Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 31, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Workoutly (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information when you use the App. It should be read together with our Terms of Service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following categories:
- Account information: email address, authentication method (email/password, Google, or Apple), account creation date, and acknowledgment timestamps.
- Workout and fitness data: workout plans, exercises, sets, reps, weights, rest timing you choose to log, workout history, and custom exercises.
- App preferences: preferred weight unit (kg or lbs), language, and reminder settings.
- Optional workout images: if you use Scan features, you may take a photo or choose an image of a workout sheet. Quick Scan processes text on your device. AI Scan (Pro) sends the image you select to our cloud processors (Google Cloud / Vertex AI) to extract exercise information. Images are used to provide that feature and are not sold for advertising.
- Diagnostics: we may collect crash diagnostics (for example via Firebase Crashlytics) to keep the App stable.
- Product interaction / analytics: we collect limited app usage events (such as screen views and feature use) via Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used and improve it. This is not used for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
- Purchase / subscription status: if you subscribe to Workoutly Pro, purchase entitlement status is processed through Apple App Store / Google Play and our subscription partner (RevenueCat). We do not receive your full payment card number.
- Local device data: certain preferences may be stored on your device for offline / pre-sign-in use.
We do not require health records, precise location, or contacts to use the App. We do not knowingly collect sensitive health diagnoses or biometric identifiers beyond the workout metrics you choose to enter.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Create and maintain your account
- Store, sync, and display your workout plans and training history
- Save preferences across sessions and devices
- Provide optional plan scanning (on-device OCR and, if you choose Pro AI Scan, cloud image analysis)
- Operate subscriptions and Pro feature entitlements
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the App
- Measure product usage with analytics to improve features
- Respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations
We do not use your workout data to provide medical advice, sell personal information to data brokers, or deliver third-party advertising based on your training activity.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in limited circumstances:
- Service providers: Google Firebase (auth, database, hosting, crash reporting, analytics, cloud functions), Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple, Google Cloud Vertex AI (for optional AI Scan), and RevenueCat (subscription entitlement management).
- Legal requirements: if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect users, the App, or the public.
- Business transfers: if involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction with continued protection consistent with this policy.
4. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your App data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or legitimate needs such as fraud prevention or backup integrity.
5. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can:
- Update workout data and preferences in the App
- Sign out or stop using the App at any time
- Delete your account and associated App data at any time from Preferences → Delete account
- Skip AI Scan and use on-device Quick Scan instead; AI Scan only runs when you choose that Pro feature
Active App Store or Google Play subscriptions are managed in your store account settings and are not automatically canceled when you delete the App account.
6. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
7. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, including where our service providers operate. By using the App, you acknowledge that information may be transferred internationally as necessary to provide the service.
8. Security
We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls through our cloud providers. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
9. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we revise the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide notice in the App. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
